Mar Garcia
Hello Everybody!
I am Mar Garcia, from Spain. I came to London two and a half years ago. Many people thought I was crazy, my family for example. But I needed a change in my life, something challenging. Time flies and I wanted to do a different job, meet different people, and try new things. London offered me everything I was looking for.
I love reading, listening to music, going out to the park, theatres, meeting friends,....above all I like feeling lost in the streets and getting to know the city.
I really enjoy my English class.I hope to improve my speaking because I've got many things to say.
Kind regards.

Jane Travers - a bit about me.

My name is Jane. I have been teaching English for 22 years, I can't believe I have been doing it for so long, but I love it! You already know me quite well, but maybe you don't know that my first friend was an orangutan! I met him when I was 3 months old in Singapore. He was a baby too and sat with me and held my hand for hours. His name was Poo! Now, 50-something years later, I am obsessed with orangutans!
What is your favourtie animal and why? Let me know.

Communication as a Key Element

If we imagine that it exists in the world more than 6,000 languages spoken, we can get an idea of the importance of the language in communication. In matters of communication there are different ways to convey a message, either by talking, by gestures, writing and reading or through pictures which we use in different ways to express our opinion.
In today's modern world the first language of communication is probably English. Because English has long since become the language of business and beyond the world of technology. In large organizations English is de facto the language of communication. In most countries it is increasingly demanded to have a good English skills before to access to special job positions. From this knowledge we see the importance of communication. In the family or with friends as well we need to communicate; at work with colleagues it is even necessary to communicate to exchange ideas on a project for example.
At the moment we are living in this fantastic and cosmopolitan city, London. It is the best opportunity to pratice and to improve our English skills which will be very helpful in the future.

Have you ever been to a park when it is spring in London? After more than four months of darkness spring brings the light like drops for sore eyes
St James, Green Park, Regent’s Park Kensington Park, Battersea Park, Hampstead Heath, Richmond Park, Kew Gardens.
So many amazing trees and flowers on a sunshine day, these are a gift which nature give us for free every year so, let’s enjoy it!

GET IN TOUCH

You know what the word ''touch'' means. I touch the notebook keyboard. If I touch water I get wet. But what does ''get in touch'' with someone mean?
We are classmates. We see one another two days a week at our English class. Our lifes are different and I am sure very interesting.
It would be great if we STAY IN TOUCH or KEEP IN TOUCH with one another the rest of the week through this blog. It has been thought to help us learning English using IT. We will improve our English vocabulary and grammar.
It is a space open to all of us. Feel free to write down a comment or a report about any topic that interested you. Share your opinion and discuss about what is going on in London.
Don't loose touch and we shall have fun.
Let us meet on internet.
Kind regards and welcome to our blog.
Mar
